I think the Bills may have set a record this year...lowest # of players on IR

Recommended Posts

I have been unable to verify which NFL season the Bills had with the lowest # of players on Injured Reserve, but 2020 has to be right up there.

Current IR:

Cody Ford, OL
Isaiah Hodges, WR*
Cam Lewis, CB
Del'Shawn Phillips, LB

*And it is possible Hodges might have been stashed there.

There have been seasons where the Bills had 20 players on IR by the time we got to week 16.

GREAT JOB Strength and Conditioning coaches!!  Go Bills.

Draft a Running Back in the 2nd?  Add another EDGE or Corner?

It's a combination of the returnable IR (3 games?) and me praying nonstop during games since AZ... actually even earlier but I took a breather when Josh threw what I thought was the game-winner with seconds to go to Diggs.

For years, it seemed like we were cursed by the injury bug, but the last few, we;ve been extremely lucky!

It isn't luck it's this regime that values durable players and put in place a stellar training staff

Did you miss McD pointing to the sky? You think maybe he was pointing at a seagull up there ready to unload birdshit on his bald head? or was it a gesture for something else?

It's kind of nice. For a long time we seemed to be a country club for players hanging out on IR like that old beer commercial where the players were sitting around in hot tubs enjoying their injury time off. Players want to be here and they want to be on the field making plays for the team. Lots of camaraderie here in Buffalo which is something we haven't seen in a long time.

Bravo indeed for he S&C coaches.

Long gone are the days of 17 guys on IR. Any old timers here remember how insistent I was about firing our trainers from back in the Jauron/Mularkey days ??

I think the name of the loser from back then was John Allaire. a third of our roster on IR all time. I cried tears of joy when he was finally fired.

I remember those days...I think they had players stretch twice a year.   Once in OTAs, and once in Training Camp.

Then they were on IR the rest of the year and sat in the Hot Tubs rehabbing.
