Darron Lee, LB is visiting the Bills. His 2nd visit to Buffalo

Recommended Posts

Darron Lee is visiting with the #Bills per the transaction wire. This is Lee's second visit with Buffalo.

Born: October 18, 1994 (age 26 years)

IAN RAPAPORT   Former #Jets and #Chiefs LB Darron Lee is expected to join the #Bills, source said, either on the 53-man roster or the practice squad. He’s visiting Buffalo now and needs to do a physical and pass through COVID-19 protocols first.

After becoming a free agent in March 2020, Lee was suspended for the first four weeks of the 2020 NFL season on September 10, 2020. He was reinstated from suspension on October 6, 2020.

He was previously suspended for the last four games of the 2018 season for a performance-enhancing drug violation.

Lee was drafted 20th overall by the Jets in 2016 but never panned out. He spent three seasons in New York before ending his tenure with the aforementioned PED suspension. All in all, he played in 40 games for the Jets, tallying 241 tackles, four sacks and three interceptions.

Draft a Running Back in the 2nd?  Add another EDGE or Corner?

He was a terrible fit for a 34 in NY. I lost track when he went to KC. I think this may be the best system for his skill set, but I wouldn't have high expectations.

He was on my list of players to select with our 2014 First Round pick.

I wanted him or Robert Nkemdiche but Shaq Lawson fell to us.

None of the really panned out.

Klein just hasn't been good.

Lee isn't going to solve all our problems but he's a veteran NFL LB.  At this point there aren't many options out there.

That is the thing about the draft.   I get excited about the possibilities, but the truth is many first round picks never hit their potential.   Some are just average NFL players.  Some are busts.

Trading a 1st for Stefon Diggs was a good move.   It is just much more expensive Salary Capwise.

Basically it is a very low risk, low cost roll of the dice on a backup Linebacker.    Not an exciting move, but Darron Lee was a 1st round draft pick.   Maybe, just maybe we can squeeze your juice out of that lemon.

Now let's trade for Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Giants today and make it a good week!
