Davis produces again, Cam Lewis sees the field

The Buffalo Bills suffered through a disappointing 42-16 loss against the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday, in a game where nothing seemed to go right for the team. Quarterback Josh Allen had some strong moments, but threw two interceptions, and the run game was largely stuffed. Defensively, without cornerbacks Tre’Davious White and Levi Wallace the pass coverage suffered. Then on top of that, several starters went down with injuries. More about how each rookie performed against the Titans below.

DE A.J. Epenesa

The rookie pass rusher was only on the field for four snaps, and understandably didn’t have much of an impact on the game. In fact, Darryl Johnson out-snapped him with 11.

RB Zack Moss

Moss is still dealing with the after-effects of a toe injury and, as a result, he was held out of Tuesday’s game.

WR Gabriel Davis

With John Brown held out because of injury, Davis, somewhat surprisingly, ended up playing 100 percent of snaps against the Titans. He did well working the middle of the field and earning yards after the catch, but his lack of deep speed in comparison to Brown showed up on a couple of incompletions. He finished the day with five catches for 58 yards on nine targets.

QB Jake Fromm

As with the previous games, Fromm was again a healthy scratch. This should remain the case throughout the season.

K Tyler Bass

It was another bounce-back game for the kicker, who made his only field goal of 43 yards (even when the laces weren’t out) and his only extra point. On kickoffs, he began the game by kicking it short, but soon started booming touchbacks.

WR Isaiah Hodgins

Hodgins remains on Injured Reserve due to a shoulder injury sustained late in training camp.

CB Dane Jackson

Jackson was elevated from the practice squad because of injuries to Levi Wallace and Tre’Davious White,

TE/FB Reggie Gilliam

Gilliam was in the game for four snaps, including on Josh Allen’s touchdown throw to T.J. Yeldon. It appears that the team turns to him near the red zone and in goal-line situations.
