Peyton Manning episode - We could have scored 50 points on the Dolphins

Recommended Posts

I was feeling awesome about our offenses performance against the Dolphins until I saw Peyton Manning break down every one of Allen’s throws lol.

Daboll really did a good job getting guys open. Many times Josh took a more difficult option instead of going to the open guy.

Hopefully that gets fixed.

The pic below is one example. Brown was wide freaking open in the endzone, but the ball was thrown to Beasley who was well covered.

Here’s another example.

He throws the TD to a covered Gilliam. So good job.

But he had a wide open TE right behind him that would have made the play much easier.

Peyton also mentioned that Josh has a “tell” during hard counts and fake snaps.

He doesn’t usually put his hands up on normal snaps, but during hard counts and fake snaps he does.

Showed an example too.

Dang good episode by Peyton!

He just showed the Gabe Davis TD and noted how Josh discretely moved the ball from his right hand to his left hand so the rusher couldn’t swipe at his right hand.

Didnt notice that during the game, but Peyton did! Nice job Josh.

go back - o think this was a bit off. When he releases the ball the left target is at the left of the M. And when you chart the angle there is three dolphins blocking his view

I’ll have to watch the episode again. I’ll check out what you’re speaking of.

Well, Josh seems willing to learn.  I’m sure he would be made aware of this analysis from Manning and watch it.  As long as he is improving every week, I like where this is heading.

Still well beyond anything from last year.

Hard enough throwing 90 degrees from his running path.  The other TE would be way back across his body.  He already put the ball where he wouldn’t lead Gilliam into the defender.  If he tried to float it back further with a Dolphin in his path, and airmailed it, we would complain about accuracy.  Not sure it is the easier throw (and if he didn’t see him, moot point for the case of the throw...but a different issue)

The pics need to be when his wind up begins. That’s when he decides. Later pics are not helpful. Especially when the receiver catches the other defenders have obviously released their guys.
not saying your point is wrong. Only that your pictures selection is off ...

This makes no sense all of your examples are Touchdowns there were no points loss.  He just had multiple recievers open.  I don't see the issue as he will have to be able to make tighter throws or throw people open for us to get to the next level.  He can't be a qb that can only throw to wide open recievers.  Trash post.

I said as much.

He got the job done but he took the route that was more difficult or more dangerous.

QB’s need to be able to throw to covered receivers and that’s a great skill but you should also be willing to take the least risky route if it ends in the same result.

ESPN + (paid service). But it was a pretty awesome 25 minute breakdown and you see angles that you didn’t see before.

I’ll give that one to Josh. He’s already throwing and the other guy looks like he has just disengaged from a defender. Probably tons of plays that look like this all over the league.

Josh is far from a finished product but he has progressed this year much more than I expected.

Yes, he still misses wr's and has plays he wants to take back but it seems like he is a hard worker and that he wants to improve. I expect he goes into the film room and is just as tough on himself as we are.

I don't know about this one. I'll give you the one to Kroft. I noticed that on the 1st replay they showed that day.

This one ? Not sure. Need more pics. Brown looks open as fuck on that still. But lets see one from before the ball is thrown. I bet the guy defending Beasley could've made a play on the ball if Allen tries Brown.
