Hundreds of protesters, some carrying guns in the state Capitol, demonstrate against Michigan's emergency measures

Recommended Posts

I know the last post said to wait until tomorrow, and I also know this is a different(yet neighboring) state, but I do seem to recall some gloating about a big anti-liberty "win" in Wisconsin's court system a fairly short time ago on here....so I figured this would be a good time and place to post this.   Those who hate liberty and the Constitution will hate this, but I that's their concern, not mine.

It's rather sad that the establishment has made liberty/constitutional rights into a partisan issue in the minds of many Americans.  That's possiby the most deadly effect of the corona virus.

In a 4-3 decision, the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down the Gov. Tony Evers’ administration’s stay-at-home order.

The ruling “essentially reopens the state, lifting caps on the size of gatherings, allowing people to travel as they please and allowing shuttered businesses to reopen, including bars and restaurants,” the Associated Press reported.

Health secretary Andrea Palm had issued the order, and the court found she didn’t have the authority to do so.

“Rule-making exists precisely to ensure that kind of controlling, subjective judgement asserted by one unelected official, Palm, is not imposed in Wisconsin,” Chief Justice Patience Roggensack wrote in the majority opinion.

Former Gov. Scott Walker praised the court’s decision in a statement to Breitbart News.

“The Wisconsin Supreme Court upheld the law,” he said.

“The rule of law must be upheld – even in emergencies. I am honored to have appointed two of the Justices in the majority on the 4 – 3 decision.”

The decision allows schools to remain closed, and local governments can create their own restrictions.

Dane County, home of liberal Madison, was quick to do just that.

Public Health Officer Janel Heinrich took Evers’ orders limiting gatherings and enacted them at the local level.

Evers, meanwhile, “reacted angrily” to the ruling, according to the AP.

“Today, Republican legislators convinced four members of the state Supreme Court to throw the state into chaos,” Evers said.

“They have provided no plan. There’s no question among anybody that people are going to get sick. Republicans own that chaos.”

He added, “In the meantime, we’re going to have 72 counties doing their own thing.”

“I can’t believe there’s a state in the nation with this type of chaos.”

Walker called for the state to reopen nearly three weeks ago during an interview with Breitbart News.

“I get the fear that people hav, but there’s also a lot of frustration. People don’t know what to believe, what the facts are. It keeps changing all the time,” he said in late April.

Walker said he believes it’s time to reopen the state and he has encouraged businesses to come up with a plan to “safely” reopen.

“Not as a requirement of government, but I think to get employees back” is going to be a challenge, he said.

“I think this is one of those where the private sector, in many cases, knows better,” Walker said, adding if workers and customers don’t feel safe, “it doesn’t matter what date you say you’re going to reopen, it’s not going to happen.”

“Let’s stop suspending common sense,” he said.

Well, tomorrow is the big day.

Oh stop with the childishness. I generalized  a time frame.

I said 2 to 6 weeks.  Tomorrow proves nothing pro or con for the ultimate  outcome of this.  This can't continue  or it will get worse.  It's already  happening in poorer countries.

Am I rooting for it? No. But being blind to the possibility is why it has the potential  to happen  in the first place.

Ignorance is bliss

This should not be political. I am a criminal defense lawyer so civil rights and liberty are my business. But this is an emergency. I have no problem with a temporary shutdown to protect lives and our future way of living. This is not a civil rights issue. You are not Martin Luther King.

I didnt claim to be anyone, but you're not the guy that kept Epstein out of jail for a decade either...     though you probably wish you were.

Yeah, I've learned how plenty of attorney's act just like our crooked politicians(being that's what many of the politicians are, making laws needlessly complicated to necessitate themselves...making the highlighted portion of the quote an appreciated and seemingly rare admission of honesty from the not so obvious establishment clan), working with your brothers behind the backs of clients, tossing each other bones and having dinner together afterward.  You can put on your act for others, but you are as shit aren't going to get me with flaming left verison of the flag waving type of nonsense.

The shutdown is not protecting lives at this point(if it ever did), it's endangering them.  You're not a doctor, and obviously haven't studied the science behind this too far beyond parroting what the establishment tells you to.

Actually, I wouldn't mind your opinion on the title of nobility.  Early Americans seemed to have a very different take, before the British intervened just in a "nick of time" with War of 1812...and a lot of book burning took place.  I posted the first MSM version to show up in my search results.  Some consider this right up there with the central banks.
