The United States is the only country out of 33 developed nations that doesn't have universal healthcare.

"Only in America" would the alt-right establishment, corporations and money-grubbing wealthy elite be able to pull off convincing their non-wealthy supporters that universal healthcare is bad and associated with evil socialism.

That's a good thing.

I'm supposed to read this, am I?  The last time you put up an article related to the general topic of a "socialized" country or system, it turned out to be a propaganda piece riddled with falsehoods and bias. I pointed out several instances of the author having lied or distorted his numbers, to which you were strangely silent-- that is, apart from when it came to the 70% tax figure, which you still insisted was correct.  I think that to this day you still believe that all Swedes pay 70% in tax and that there are no other mitigating factors to take into account, such as no property tax.

By the way, what do you think about tax money going to pay for schools, roads, police departments, etc?  Is that socialized schools, socialized roads and socialized police departments?   Are you against all of those as well?

Every single First World country has universal healthcare except the US, and you're somehow under the impression that the other thirty-two countries got it wrong, but the US with its outlier model got it right.

Yes.

Are you senile?

I wasn't silent at all. I responded to every point you made.

To which you replied and said "you're in love with the fat, bloated, corrupt, lying, criminal sleazebag in the White House".

Problem being, of course, that I'm not a Trump supporter at all.

Nor a Republican.

that is, apart from when it came to the 70% tax figure, which you still insisted was correct.

That didn't happen.

I said the average tax rate was around 60%, and that the average rate in the US was around 20%.

Close to 40% difference.

Swedes DO pay property tax.

It's just not called "property tax".

It's called the "Municipal Property Charge"

Accordinging to the Swedish Tax Agency:

"If you own (a home or homes) in Sweden, you must pay a municipal property charge. “House” in this context refers to a one- or two-family home such as a detached or terraced house, or a holiday cottage.

The person who owns the property on first of January during the income year is obligated to pay the property charge for the entire year, even if the ownership of the property changes during the year.

For the income year of 2019, the charge for each residential building is 8,049 SEK or 0.75% of the assessed value for the house and associated grounds, whichever provides the lower charge."

No, that's called having a government and society.

Socialism typically is talking about the governments interference and control of business.

Here is the dictionary definition (emphasis added):

so·cial·ism | \ ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm  \

Definition of socialism

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

If you mean by means of turning them upside down and shaking the pesos out of their pockets as former corrupt 55th Mexican President Vicente Fox believed with his "We're not paying for your f*#@*ing wall", then no, nobody believed that.  It was more by means of costs to the Mexican government for failing to enforce their southern border by international law and providing illegal immigrants a pathway and transportation through their country to the US border  Tariffs, lost trade deals, stalled commerce movement to the point they would need to pay for enforcement of illegal border movement on their side of the US/Mexican border was and is the preferred method.

Add to that, the Democrats' controlled US House of Representatives stopping any action or proposed legislation by the President requiring funds to improve border security, it became necessary for President Donald J. Trump to move funds from other expenditures to improve the border security through the declaration of a National Crisis or Emergency.  When the Mexican government wakes up to the fact that it is in their best interest to upgrade US/Mexico border security they will add to the funding to secure the border; if they are ever able to remove corruption from their government.  Questions?

Nobody distorts numbers, because nobody really knows how expensive it will be. We only know that it will be a lot more expensive than what we are being told, and the numbers will continue to climb.

We also know that it will suck, just like the healthcare in those 32 countries you speak of.

Everyone knows that government run anything is normally inefficient, ineffective, and prone to abuse but somehow these people think they should be entrusted to run healthcare for 330M people while doctors have no incentive to be better than their peers via capitalist motivations. Sounds great.

The pig man, and fatally flawed drive me up a wall. I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually work for the dark side.

As for the others, why would they want politicians voting to force us to accept government run abysmal care, when it would never be anything they would accept for themselves? No, the politicians would accept nothing less than all the bells and whistles, and all on our dime. Perfect ...

But hey, they’re working hard for us.
