Why dems CAN'T let Sanders win

Recommended Posts

But dig a little deeper and you'll see, according to Pew, only 15% of Democrats identify as very liberal, where a democratic socialist agenda would logically fall.

Beyond that, 32% describe themselves as liberal, 38% as moderate and 14% as some flavor of conservative.

It is not a far-left party, despite the youthful energy inspired by Sanders' promises of free health care and free college.

Panning out to the overall American electorate, just 27% of Americans identify as Democrats, according to the most recent Gallup tracking poll.

Likewise, Gallup makes it clear that America remains a center-right nation, with 37% of Americans calling themselves conservative, 35% moderate and just 24% liberal.

Gallup shows that more Americans say they would vote for a gay, Muslim or atheist president than a socialist. There's a reason why Team Trump rails against socialism and wants to run against Sanders.

Most people that are voting Sanders, you know, the guy leading all the polls, will not vote for another Dem candidate out of spite if he's not the democratic candidate.  you live by the sword and you die by the sword.  If Dems screw Bernie out of the candidacy again, Trump will win landslide.  I think Bernie vs Trump would yield some great debates.  If it's Trump vs someone else, I won't even tune in.

Even worse than that is Bernie's health record. No matter how hard he tries to keep that out of the conversation, it's going to be a major point of contention. Americans are already afraid of a president who might be or become sick. Bernie already has that publicized incident of having a heart attack during the campaign, that's confirmed. Comrade Trump will hammer on that mercilessly until the electorate becomes programmed to be afraid of Bernie

And it's not really even an invalid concern. Once you've had one heart attack you are like twice as likely to have another one. I like Bernie and would consider voting for him, but even I'm concerned about that and it might keep me from actually voting for him.

I'd like to say the Dems have to do everything they can to keep him from getting nominated, but I don't want to see them pull the same bulshit and sabotage him again. We wouldn't even have to be suffering through the ass face presidency if they hadn't done it the first time

Considering voting for Comrade Bernie, huh?  Geez Meat.  Really?  Not surprised actually.  LOL

Wonder if he takes Tulsi Gabbard as his VP choice like he did in 2016.  With Trump getting vegetables snuck into his meals, to Bernie's overall age/health, VP is important.

Hell, LBJ left his position of senate majority leader and took the vice presidency position with JFK cause he saw at the time one out of 5 presidents died in office, that he was a "gamblin' man" and that this was the only shot he had.  Side note: LBJ was batshit insane and makes Trump look like a saint lol.  (Dude had the showers refixed his first day in office to have powerful jets that shot directly on his cock, would drive around drunk and have his secret service run up to the car and refill his whiskey, would claim that he's forgotten more women that he's slept with than JFK ever slept with)

My favorite LBJ story is a member of the press asked him why US troops are still in Vietnam and he literally pulled down his pants exposed himself and said "THIS IS WHY"

Your premise could make sense, but every Liberal who identifies as 'center' is actually far left.   Remember Al Franken's 'Central Air'?

Of course every liberal who identifies as center-left is actually 'center-left.

But it's skewed.

Glad to help.

I don't believe those "identify" numbers Lit posted about democrats.  Centrists, moderates and conservatives?  Bullshit.  What they see as centrist I see as kooky.

If you believe in Bernie and what he stands for, you vote for him.

Why?

Because he is going to surround himself with like minded people. Bernie is just carrying the torch, the movement is bigger than him. If something happens to him I'm confident in whomever he picks as VP.

I don’t know if I would say most of them, but a lot of them have said that if it’s not Bernie they won’t vote and that is a catastrophe waiting to happen

Actually, some have said HW Bush made the call(he "couldn't recall" if he was in Dallas that day, lol), and LBJ was happy to play his part in keeping Viet Nam and the Federal Reserve intact.  Whether that was true or not, coincidentally, Bush played the same roll as LBJ(the establishment candidate a bullet away from replacing the populist candidate who beat him in the primaries, Reagan).  Bush had to wait longer than LBJ, but after that bullet, Reagan's "Ron Paulesque" [Ron Paul was 1 of only 3 Republicans to support Reagan in his 1976 bid] small government policies were out the window, and  GHW Bush was effectively the Cheney/Kushner of that era while Reagan maintained the camera focus through his charm.

The formulas used are effective, or they wouldn't keep getting used.

Bernie can bring up that trump had an emergency health scare that was pushed under the rug as well. Or the fact that half the time trump sounds like he is on drugs.

Although this might seem somewhat hyperbolic, it is still probably the most insightful post of the thread.  Relying on folks to "self-indentify" is inheritently subjective(even if they weren't "liberal", but more so due to that), and not exactly scientific method.  For sake of comparison, you have Range member "VeryWideRIght", who might be a cut rate neocon at most.
