Biden just said what I’ve been saying for years

Recommended Posts

I remember a year or so ago, HipKat and Meathead and others were arguing that we should have free healthcare and I kept asking “who is going to pay for it” and no one could really answer it.

Biden agrees with me.

“Biden later circled back to a critique of Sanders' "Medicare for All" plan, accusing him of refusing to tell the American people what the real cost of the plan would be. He argued that plan would be an albatross in a race against Trump.

"How much is it going to cost? Who's going to pay for it? It will cost more than the entire, the entire federal budget we spend now, more than entire budget," Biden said. "The idea middle class taxes aren't going to go up, is just crazy."

It's true and the bigger scam is that the tax comes from the Middle Class and Lower Upper Class who aren't rich enough to fight back by having tax code exemptions and carried interest write offs. Anyone who thinks the wealthy are really going to get hammered are only fooling themselves.

Bernie can't tell us how much its going to cost because he doesn't know.  He even said so himself.  :niterider:

"Well, look, we have political opponents," he started before host Norah O’Donnell cut in, asking whether he didn't know how much his plans cost.

Sanders, 78, replied: "You don't know. Nobody knows. This is impossible to predict."

Middle class taxes going up is fine considering I'm already paying 11k a year on health insurance, that still fucking bills me for shit they refuse to pay for entirely.

I doubt middle class taxes would double with the inclusion of his plan, but it's important to have a more fleshed out and articulated plan for voters to truly get on or off the train.

Everyone that expresses this issue about Sanders' plan seem to all act like our current healthcare system is cheap.  That's simply not the case.  Someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think this study has been debunked.  "The US could insure 30 million more Americans and virtually eliminate out-of-pocket health care expenses while saving $2 trillion in the process" https://jacobinmag.com/2018/07/medicare-for-all-mercatus-center-report

So who is going to pay for those without healthcare?

Does the Nation start denying healthcare for those without insurance or ability to pay?

It’s either one way or the other and the other is getting increasingly expensive as more Americans decide they can’t afford Healthcare Insurance.

So if it’s not Medicare for all, then what is the solution?

I mean, doesn't the nobility of the idea mean something?  He's fighting for something that'll benefit our country as a whole.  Trump's campaign relied heavily on building a wall and his plan for paying for it was Mexico was going to pay lmao.  How did that work out?  It's barely being built and America is paying for it.  Nobody seems to care that much about that.  But when someone wants to give healthcare to all Americans, all of a sudden people attack him for it because his payment plan is vague

M4A does make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.  But the reality is that I have ZERO confidence in the government's ability to handle such an undertaking.  And after having been on government run health care for over half my life I'd rather not be on it.  I'd rather meet half way and do Buttiplug's "M4A who want it" , that way people get some coverage and relief while people like me are allowed keep their private plans.  :niterider:

I've never said we should have free health care. It's not even possible. Just like free education is not possible. But it shouldn't cost $25 for an aspirin, fcol

Almost 11K a year here, PLUS the first 20% of anything. I have a CT scan coming up with labs. After my $1000 deductible, my out of pocket is $1600.00

You're talking to someone -- and he can correct me if I'm wrong -- who actually trusts Donald Trump's intentions more than Greta Thunberg's intentions when it comes to the environment.

I think the same can probably be said about the vast majority of Donald's fans.

It wouldn't stop with healthcare.  You could be in the 70% tax bracket pretty quickly with the socialist cats running the show.  No to that bullshit.

He wouldn't be "giving" us anything.  That is a terrible choice of words.  Oh, and "vague" is a HUGE red flag.  Think about it.

$1,000 is a very low deductible.  No wonder you're paying so much.  And I thought Obongo Care was perfect!  LOL

of course middle class taxes are going to go up. DUH

but for that increase you are getting an extremely valuable resource. and if done right, you wont have to pay any premiums

and after a disgusting several decades where the income increases have flowed mostly to the richest people for no good fucking reason at all, we will be soaking the fuck out of the rich to bring the income gap down to something that isnt grotesque and embarrassing

"whaaa". mh wants to steal money from people that earned it. no, mh wants to balance the playing field, stop rich people from accumulating more by making electronic transactions that create virtually zero jobs and just pad rich peoples accounts with money that comes from a source poor and middle class people cant access

More like triple? Quadruple?

It would cost more than the entire federal budget.

Think about that.

That is awesome that you know how much it’s gonna cost, when nobody else does. Maybe you should get Bernie on the phone right away

There have been several statistical analysis on it.

Biden even mentioned it last night lol

I don’t know exactly who with or where I stand on this, but you can’t say it’s going to cost 1 or 2 trillion dollars if taxes go up to pay for it and premiums disappear to counter the personal tax increase.

Like I said, I am not an expert, but I think people are making claims and not including all of the possibilities

Slash the military budget in half (it will still be more than the next highest country)

And cutting out the middle man and paper work saves 600 billion.

Damn that's almost a trillion right there.

Then you're taking money away from military personnel. A large part of the military budgets is salary.

Are you OK with making military men and women take a paycut?

Let's say you are.

That accounts for less than 12% of the amount needed for just ONE YEAR.

"In that analysis, the Urban Institute calculated that under a single-payer plan that looks a lot like Medicare for All, costs would total $59 trillion over a decade"

Ok everyone. Find the $59 trillion we need.

That's nearly $6 Billion per year.

The ENTIRE FEDERAL BUDGET is $4.45 billion per year.

If paying for Health Care exceeds the entire budget, then the problem isn't paying for Health Care, it's the cost of Health Care
