Do you ever improve at anything in life without being challenged?

Did it improve Adam and Eves (and about 20 billion people afterwords) lives when god put a test ( tree of life) In the GOE and allowed Satan to test them?  I mean, they were already perfect. Why the test of faith? God told Abraham to kill his son, only stopping him when it was apparent he was going to do it. And even though Job got tenfold what he had, he sure was put through a lot of misery because of a challenge from Satan. Of course, I’ve given my view that this is all bullshit anyway. And I know that might offend some believers sensibilities . And I don’t want to do that.

But, this is what many faith based people believe. And I can’t see a good reason for God to operate this way. Who am I to question what god does with our lives. I’m nobody. But with my (god given?) free will, I’ve chosen to reject what makes absolutely no sense to me.
Maybe that’s the REAL test........

That's a slavery mentality  you were given. The wealthy are never challenged. Born into their wealth from their forefathers  that have always ruled you. They gave you religion  to have a crutch for your suffering...the promise  of gold at the end. While the wealthy continue  to swim in prosperity ,off your taxed labor.  But yeah, god loves you.....

You don't get it bro. But that's ok

Faith frees you from slavery of the flesh.

There's nothing wrong with prosperity. Certainly there's no glory or liberty in poverty. But many (not all) of the wealthiest are the most wretched of the poor. What do they rule? They are ruled by a false idol.

Many Christians would say if you don’t except Christ, you should fear eternal damnation. Should they fear that?

Earthly wealth and Prosperity, How do those measure up in the grand scheme of things? If you believe nothing happens after we die, OK, you have a point, but suspend your disbelief for a second. Suspend the Christian angle. Let's use the physics example of energy never dies and we are energy, If that's the case, our time on Earth is a blink of an eye and that Human prosperity means shit. Moral prosperity is worth infinitely more than all the gold on the Earth

See this is where I fall short in may people's eyes, because too many things in the Bible don't line up. Haven't produced physical evidence and don't make logical sense, but if you look past the words at the philosophical and moral lessons, see God as the Energy that binds us all together (Way understated) and Jesus as the symbol of love and forgiveness, it starts to make more sense to me. So Jesus is real, to me. He is the key to forgiveness for the mistakes I've made. God is the love of the father that is always with me and The Bible is the Book of Lessons to guide my life by. All three I fall short of and I may be dead wrong.

The Bible could be verbatim, God could be the God of the Bible and Jesus was God in the flesh, here as his son to walk the path to his eventual Crucifixion

The gates of pearl have turned to gold, it seems you’ve lost your way.

It’s funny that you quote Slayer. Tom Arya is catholic and a big believer

Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

I know Tom Araya is a Catholic. I think Kerry King wrote the lyrics to that song, though.

faith doesnt free you from anything. Faith is a thought, not actual freedom. I shouldnt have to think I'm free. I should know it.I should be it.

I know i'm not free in the current world system.

You want truth or not?  I believed in god. It was obviously  a waste of time.

This world is pretty pathetic for being created by a all knowing being ,who lives outside space and time.  Meanwhile,  he's loving but will send you to an eternal  hell? Pretty finite hypocrisy  for a god.

Everyone has their own path, and Christians respect the dignities of others beliefs.
