That was the worst QB’ed game I’ve seen since Losman fumbled the win away against the Jets

Recommended Posts

I’ve been really trying to come around on Allen.

Even changed my avatar to him.

But that was the worst QB’ed game in over a decade.

Yes, even worse than Peterman.

Peterman had passes tipped off receivers hands for INT’s. Receivers running wrong routes, etc.

In the first half, Allen couldn’t even hit the receivers hands!

He overthrew (and threw behind) Josh Brown, on a play where Brown was wide open and would have walked into the end zone.

Those 7 points were the difference right there.

He overthrew Foster, who also was wide open for a 40+ yard gain.

He routinely underthrew sideline passes that had blocking set up for the receiver,  if the receiver didn’t have to pick the ball up off the turf.

Despite all of that, there was one area where he was even worse... THE SACKS.

There were moments where he had no time to throw, but more often that not, he had 3+ seconds to throw the ball and instead of throwing it away, he took the sack.

There was one play where he had nearly 8 seconds to throw and he took a sack.

The sack he took at the end of the game was inexcusable as well.

His fun fumbleitis also came back.

His first fumble setup Baltimore first TD (or fg?).

Long story short: I’m not giving up on him, but this is becoming routine. He routinely plays poorly against good teams.

He beats up on .500 and below teams, but every time a good team faces him, he looks completely lost.

Were near the end of his 2nd year. He’ll be a 3rd year player soon.

The “young” excuses have to end at some point.

I said in the preseason that Allen would play well enough to earn the start in 2020 but not enough to say he's the guy long term.

I stand by that prediction.

Concerning THIS game, I think the Knox drop changed the whole thing. That was a 1st down deep in their territory. That play could have changed everything.

Allen, if I remmeber right, was 1 for 8 at that point (when Knox dropped that).

Meanwhile Lamar has all day and is dumping off to guys who take it to the house. I always will blame McDermott and Daboll for Allen’s short comings.

  • Thanks 1

Lamar didn’t impress me either.

But at least Lamar wasn’t killing his time.

The pass protection was horrible all game long.

Cody Ford got exposed at RT.

Ford should be playing LG or RG, and Beane needs to draft a RT to complete with Ty Nsekhe for the starting RT spot.

L*t is a loser

My adapt a Bill is Brandon Beane.

I would agree if there weren’t a dozen plays where Allen had 4+ seconds to throw.

He took a sack today when he had 7+ seconds in the pocket.

Allen sucks but nothing we can do about it.

Not like Barkley is gonna play unless Allen gets injured.

It's tough be have a good passing game when the defense is in your face all game long because of piss poor pass protection for the OL.

Allen threw 0 interceptions and 1 TD despite the constant pass rush.

Even when he has time to throw he still isn't good.

There were more plays with pressure in Allen's face than clean pockets.

Cole Beasley, Devin Singletary and Dawson Knox all had drops on target throws by Allen.

Allen could have had a better game, but he got hit a lot, had constant pressure in face all game long and wasn't helped out by the shity play calling and lack of in game adjustments by Allen. Allen had to over come the bad play calling of Daboll and the bad pass pro of the OL

Dude, Allen definitely didn't do enough to win, but come on.  We've been witness to so many shitty QB performances.  Do you remember the Derek Anderson game against the Colts last year? Or the Peterman Bears game?  It didn't seem like we were in the same league as those teams.

Allen was worse than both of those games.

Allen went into halftime with 30 yards.

At one point, he was 20% completion percentage.

We were close in this game because of the defense.

Was a Losman esque half.

The SD and Baltimore Peterman starts worse 2 of the worst in football history though

That's how almost ALL our games have been this season.

Allen play's like shit for the first 3 quarters... defense plays lights out and keeps us in it.... 4th quarter come along and we're somehow still in the game.

Same story every game.

Statistically, yes.

But anyone who watched the game knew that those weren’t Petermans fault (all).

Tipped passes, deflections, wrong routes, etc.

It only wins because we've played such a weak schedule.

When we play better teams it's not going to work as evidenced by today's loss.
