Josh Allen shines in the limelight

Even the Dallas Cowboys’ play-by-play announcer didn’t know his name at the start of the game, but now the nation knows that Josh Allen (not Rosen) is the Buffalo Bills’ star quarterback. On one of the biggest stages the league has, Allen balled out. He put up the highest QBR of his career (120.7), completed 12 straight passes, and was responsible for two touchdowns.

Those two touchdowns, a second-quarter pass to Cole Beasley and a third-quarter run, made Thursday’s game the eighth straight in which Allen has accounted for at least two touchdowns. The streak is a Billsfranchise record and the longest active streak in the NFL.

Those two touchdowns also made it Allen’s ninth game with a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. It moved him into third place in NFL history for most games with a passing and rushing touchdown in a QB’s first two seasons. The whipped cream on that pumpkin pie is that Allen passed Dak Prescott with his Turkey Bowl performance.
