This thread is for people to post links to online mock drafts so we can keep track of a few names that may be coming to Buffalo.

I am slightly disappointed. When I think of the word "mock" on here, it's often more entertaining. This is too informative for the Range. :)

Good work bcw.

Hey, can we at least mock the predictions?

Let the mocking begin!!! Seriously though, our resident mockery experts have been quiet lately. The board seems demoralized being there is less to complain about than usual.

I'm having mixed emotions now. Does the board's success rely on mockery(sometimes, of the cruel kind)? I'd like to get folks' honest thoughts on the state of things here, and eventually I may even seek to present a state of the Range address, live in the shoutbox. Drinking may be encouraged.

FWIW, Joe B has nailed the first round pick for the Bills the past 3 or 4 years. His last mock is the one to keep an eye on.

It's sometimes hard to mock someone who has had a string of success. I guess we could at times have bookend Marios on the line, and refer the combination of the 2 as Super Mario rather than pluralizing them as individuals. Even Dareus starts with Mar, so something about Mars work even if Kyle wont legally change his name. Mars and Meatball(m and m's), maybe Mars and Jupiter due to his girth. Is Saturn the lightest colored planet? If so, that makes it easy.

Of course the resigning of Hughes is a kick in the ribs(but not the nads) to this nicknaming dream. Maybe if Hughes is hurt it can still be a reality. I'm not so sure I see the Bills taking a DE in the 3rd like Joe B though. I am an appreciater of names though, and the possibilities with this are fun to think of.

I am tempted to ban this particular post, as it is simply untrue. Just because you dont have the same vision as a person doesn't mean you should use stock mockery. That in itself is showing lack of creativity. I guess I can be thankful you didn't physically threaten me. That was about the only good thing with the cheap stock humor!(Which again, was blatantly untrue!) lol. Ingrate.

I fail to see how anyone can get excited enough over the 50th pick in the draft to go to all the trouble of consolidating fantasy drafts by other self-proclaimed internet experts.

Who cares?

Just wait for May 1st.

Go do something else until then. Because only Whaley's mock matters. And you ain't getting to that one until then.

Cyrus Kuoandijo was the 44th pick in the 2014 draft.

How'd that work out?

And why do think Whaley will do better at #50 in 2015? There isn't a shred of evidence to support that notion.

The point is to simply get the names of possible future Bills out there. As a fan I like to look at the scouting reports of the players and be somewhat informed of who we may be selecting.

When draft day does come it is much more exciting for me to at least know the guy's name and maybe what his strengths and weaknesses may be.

I certainly understand that none of these guys may even be on Whaley's radar and that this means nothing once the selection is made but what is wrong with possibility educating Bills fans who might have their name called on draft day?

Right on man. I actually agree with BOTH you and mikgaes. It's good to have an idea of the names out there and who would/could make a good fit, and it gives us something to think about in an otherwise dead month. It isn't like Whaley is going to surprise us and pick up Evan Mathis or anything in the meantime. Mik brings up a good point too. Whaley spent a slightly better 2nd round pick on the OL last year, and it looks like(unless there is major improvement) that he may have totally whiffed.

This is kind of like fishing. Sure there may be some strategy involved on our part, but it's often a matter of chance and more meant as a pastime. I gave you a "thanks", because you made a good point and said it without being defensive or offensive, unlike many. Speaking of thanks, people on this board seem quite tight gripped with them. It reminds me of a friend in college who told me Howard Stern said women keep their P*****s locked up like they are gold. Folks, it won't kill you to slap a thanks on posts like the one bcw made to show your appreciation. This is coming from a guy(me) who was mocking the mocks and doesnt mind mocking Whaley (or OBD, out of habit) on occasion.

Merk has the Bills selecting:

2nd round: C.Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M

3rd round: D.Randell, S, Arizona State

I doubt Ogbuehi will be there but he's coming off a surgery and struggled at times last year. He lacks the strength that it sounds like Rex is looking for in the run game but he would be great insurance in case Glenn walks next year.

Randell sounds like a solid pick but I wonder if Rex would rather go with the veteran Landry.

In the latest 2 round draft mockery, Don Kadar has the Bills picking QB Bryce Petty in the 2nd.

Thoughts?

It looks like Kadar already has a new pick for us, as opposed to the Petty one yesterday. Thoughts? (the bolded text was my doing, showing that we aren't locked into any reach for the 2nd round).

By Dan Kadar @MockingTheDraft on Apr 14, 2015, 12:00p

Finally, the Buffalo Bills are on the clock in our ongoing 2015 NFL mock draft. The Bills, of course, were without a first-round pick after trading up for wide receiver Sammy Watkins in last year's draft. We don't yet know whether that was a smart move. What we do know is that Buffalo will see a lot of talented players -- namely offensive linemen -- get picked before the Bills are up in the draft. Despite 10 offensive linemen getting picked already, Brian Galliford from Buffalo Rumblings (and this very mock draft) managed to find a starter-level lineman at No. 50.

50. Bills: Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M

BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo Bills blog Buffalo Rumblings

Galliford: As the Bills' first pick (No. 50 overall) neared, Dan Lavoie and I kept an open mind regarding which position to attack. Buffalo has a fair amount of talent and depth across the entirety of its roster; the Bills have needs, of course, but none that are so pressing that a second-round pick absolutely has to be spent there.

Quarterback (Brett Hundley), tight end (Clive Walford), tackle (Cedric Ogbuehi), guard (A.J. Cann), defensive line (Jordan Phillips, Henry Anderson) and cornerback (Byron Jones, Jalen Collins) were our biggest considerations for the pick. Walford, Cann and Phillips were all gone by the time pick No. 50 rolled around, and we decided to scrap lower-upside prospects like the second-tier guards and Anderson in favor of a better floor-ceiling combination.

Lavoie lobbied fairly hard for Hundley, but in the end, it was difficult to foresee the Bills sacrificing the ability to contribute with this pick, as they're trying to win this year. The corners were very tempting, but Buffalo has pretty good defensive backfield depth right now. That left us with Ogbuehi, a high-upside pick who may not contribute in 2015, but who might walk into the starting lineup in 2016. Buffalo has question marks at right tackle, where prospects Seantrel Henderson and Cyrus Kouandjio reside (Ogbuehi is a better prospect than both), and left tackle Cordy Glenn will be a free agent next spring. There was too much upside with Ogbuehi, and too much of a need at tackle, to pass this up.

Dan Kadar, SBNation.com: In my most recent mock draft, the choice for Buffalo was Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty, and that's only because Hundley was gone. I prefer a quarterback for the Bills, but finding a starting offensive lineman is smart. Ogbuehi does have a high ceiling, but he also has some versatility. He played guard some at Texas A&M and could begin his NFL career on the inside.
