Should have never let McCoy go

Recommended Posts

And here is why.

This is a play in which our line actually contained the entire box, and Gore had a chance for a HUGE gain.

I'm talking a 50+ yard run, if not a potential TD.

All head to do was bounce it to the outside here, with everyone swallowed up in the middle.

Instead, he dives straight into the pile for a 0 yard gain?

McCoy bounces this ball out and takes it to the house. Period.

FACT: You may not have liked McCoy's "dancing", but  he was a dynamic playmaker and we DESPERATELY miss having a dynamic playmaker.

He is average over 5 yards per carry on the year.

3rd and 2. Who would you rather have carry the rock:

Allen

Gore

Singletary

I’m good with 2 of the 3 above.  These are situations that are designed for a RB.

Or maybe go full old school and have the back follow the FB into the pile.

Conservative when they shouldn’t be and cute when they should be conservative

That's the 2nd time you make this thread trough 8 weeks of NFL.

How many more can we expect ? .... He's gone. Move along. Get over it. And yes I know he should've/could've been kept.

That was a nice family had last night. Doesn’t matter if he was still here or not if our offensive idiot, I mean, coordinator is only going to call pass plays and not use the running game effectively

I remember this play and I remember screaming in the shout box about running into a meat grinder in the box when literally any play to the side would have gotten the 1st.

Singletary is very capable of catching a pass there in open space.

Watching the GB/KC game last night and even accounting for  the offensive talent there is just a level of creativity in the offensive playcalling that we simply don't have. It's like Rex "we're gonna be bullies" all over again. We try to run through a brick wall instead of going around it and it bit us in the ass.

Or just give Motor more carries.

I really like Gore but McDermott and Daboll are using him like Gase, and it's not a good thing.

Gore getting 4 yards is great, anytime he rips off 7+ yards is a surprise.  This is a problem for the offense because you're leaving chunk yardage plays on the field anytime Gore gets the ball.

This team needs another RB next year to pair with Motor.  If he's going to be a change of pace guy that's fine, but the other back has to be able to be a playmaker too.

Given his age you can't even bludgeon defensive with him, because if he gets more than 15 carries in a game, he's liable to lose a body part.

Agree that it was a mistake to let him go but he would have suffered in this offense...this team doesn’t have the QB or OC to do the creative things that make Shady do what he does best. He’s still dynamic in the open field!

Sorry but I'll never not call an administration out for ineptness.

Not when it's costing us yards and TD's.

Insufferable.  McCoy had done nothing in Buffalo for two years.  His absence is not the problem.  What's it like always having to be "right" about everything?  Glad I don't suffer from that affliction.  LOL.  Unreal.

Wrong.

It was 1 year.

And NO running-back would have done anything with our OL last year.

The year before he had 1,500+ total yards and 8 TD's.

Glad I don't suffer from being wrong all the time.

You were also one who was fine with him being cut, if I recall correctly.

Now he's averaging over 5 yards per carry and I bet Beane wishes we had him back.

See the pic above.

He would have scored (or got close) on that play.

Motor wasn't seeing much either.

He was missing opportunities as well.

mccoy was traded to an offensive juggernaut. good for him

but his skills had declined and he was superfluous with singletary on the team

shoulda traded mccoy a year earlier, but water under the bridge

Offensive juggernaut?

He was playing with Matt freaking Moore and a crappy o-line last night.

lmao.

Singletary has done pretty much nothing.

I really miss seeing Shady getting put on his ass in the backfield.  Let's bring him back!  :niterider:

You act like 2017 was a great year for McCoy.  It wasn't.  Second lowest rushing average of his career.  He was not a difference maker and that was 2 years ago.  Good running backs over 30 is the exception to the rule.  In that respect, Gore is amazing.  The lack of McCoy on the roster is not the problem.

That was him fumbling the ball again last night, wasn’t it? I think it only cost  KC 3 pts though . Still carries the ball loosely.

How successful was he last year? Why do you think he would thrive in the same offense with the same shit-for-brains OC calling plYs
