One Stat Recap: Tre White adds to impactful resume in Bills vs. Dolphins

Recommended Posts

Miami Dolphins v Buffalo Bills

Takeaway Tre leads the way

With just over five minutes to go in the third quarter, the Buffalo Bills were trailing the Miami Dolphins 14-9 and Ryan Fitzpatrick had the Miami offense in the red zone looking to extend their lead. Then Tre’Davious White got involved and spoiled Fitz’s plans with an interception at the two-yard line. That interception led to a 98-yard touchdown drive and a successful two-point conversion that would give the Bills the lead.

Takeaway Tre wasn’t done yet; with around eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter he struck again, this time punching the ball out of Preston Williams’s hands. Jerry Hughes picked the fumble up and returned it to the Miami 16-yard-line. A few plays later Josh Allen hit Cole Beasley for what would be the deciding touchdown.

Tre’Davious’s two timely takeaways made the Bills’ comeback possible and helped seal the victory. According to the team, those two takeaways bring White to 14 second-half takeaways—best in the NFL since he entered the league.
