Need a reliable used vehicle

Recommended Posts

Fwiw2: I rented a Kia Forte last November and did not have a high opinion of it. I would bump my head on the door frame almost every time getting into it. I’m only 5’8”. For $50/month though... I might look past the fact that it might put me in concussion protocol. Lol

How is your credit?

i honestly dont know. ive got so many things to worry about that i dont even pay attention to that

i will admit that i was forced to default on about $5k of First Niagara overdraft debt bc i needed that money to pay my house taxes. so i expect it might not be that great. car dealerships are notorious for taking chances on shaky credit customers, it probably wouldnt raise my payment by all that much. im tired now, i will see if i can get my credit score tomorrow

but im planning on paying cash anyway. that wont affect the sale of a car, but it could (probably would) affect a lease. frankly, id rather own than lease, but if i could find a great lease deal somewhere i would consider that as well. the problem is that im a 6'-1" guy who cant bend over due to my recent back surgeries so i cant lease a tiny car thats very low to the ground or difficult to get into like pk was talking about

I'm in LA and last week I was seeing 2019 dodge challengers going for $69 a month with $2000 down, and I bet if you walked in there ready to take it it would be easy to negotiate something for 0 down and about the same per month.

As much as I tried to save Meat from looking like a ****y teenager hipster in a Civic, I am also amused by thinking of him rolling around in something cool looking like an American muscle/sports car. You might be the cause of the guy's death if he manages to get some due to you, and his heart gives out!

Coughin' is right. Then again... if I recall correctly it isn't a true FICO 08 score. ****, if I recall correctly, it isn't FICO at all... and is vantage 3.0. When I'm sober tomorrow I can look into it for you, but there are definitely other free scores, some of them fico, from one of the 3 main bureaus, if you want to go about it the way of the grifter rather than paying for a true and accurate score. Back in the day my trade was actually with this stuff, so I could build you into a more solid Meat if you actually cared to, but something tells me you do not.

I dont blame you for wanting to do all cash. That is how us freedom lovin' types generally roll, Meatman. I tip my hat to you.

I agree with Bowman....Honda's are great....engines last forever on those things (the only thing is the body of the vehicle is not very reliant...i find they will rust etc very easily)....but yeah if you find a second hand Honda they are pretty reliable..IMO...good luck!

I bought my first Honda (CRV) in 2017. I will never buy any other brand going forward. Says a lot. Screw the other brands especially the "luxury" ones. Completely unnecessary unless you just like to spend money for no reason at all.

Go to a couple of Honda dealers and get the cheapest certified preowned vehicle you can. They generally will come down in price if you play the game. If at all possible a hybrid would be great, I have an Accord getting 46 mpg.

Wanting to kill 2 birds with one stone and bump this for Meat by asking if it's true....that BertSquirtGum will be back in 2 days?!? I'm having mixed emotions about this. I remember when I first returned in the Shoutbox after being wrongfully banned and Meat said, "Shit's about to get real!!", but I just behaved and was humble. From Bert's vulgar shouts today, that does not appear to be his intent.

Come to think of it, I think he may have been ChinaBills and wanted us to know...this guy isnt scared like most Rangers. Like an online Rambo of sorts. Granted he generally goes after the biggest degenates, so he does serve useful purpose. I'm tempted to start a poll thread about public opinion on the unbanning, but OP Meathead is actually the Master of Poll.

What does this have to do with this thread?

Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

What does this have to do with this thread?

Like I said, it allowed me to BUMP the thread to help out my pal Meat....and it was something with Bert showing up in the Shoutbox that inspired it(and I didnt want to post a whole thread about it). I guess answering you allowed me to attempt to help Meatman again, although it appears to be an orgy of Honda love in here. I feel like I'm watching an episode of Initial D and am going to see folks pulling a drift around corners now. :)

CarMax might be an option. On Niagara Falls Blvd.

No negotiating, so less painful process.

2010 Toyota Camry or 2010 Honda Civic usually fall under $10k

Good luck!

Happy birthday to Range member, JuanaFeast. As a fan of names, if stranded and forced into cannabalism, your name suggests you'd be the proper companion for the job.

(and bump for our guy, Meat). Edit: a moment after writing that name, I realized that he too may have a popular name for such a situation.

That sounds like a great idea. I think I'm going to give that a shot

If you havent made a decision yet, Civics are always a good bet. Stay away from just about anything 2.4 liter excluding Hondas. Main thing is maintenance records. The more the better. If youre a DIYer who doesn't mind fixing stuff once in a while, I'd even throw Chevy cruze out there (1.4 turbo, or 2.0 diesel, I own a '14 cruze diesel). Civic and Cruze would be my 2 recommendations, in that order.
