What stat line from Allen would give you serious hope this year?

Recommended Posts

Obviously hopes are high right now seeing how Allen finished last season, but what kind of stat line would you realistically hope for this year?

I'm going with 3500 pass yards, 24 pass td's, 14 picks, 700 rush yards and 7 rush td's.

I feel this is both realistic in terms of building on last year, and would give the fan base legitimate hope for his future.

Thoughts?

pretty fair stat line. If he's responsible for 31 TDs this year I'd be pumped. Anything 30+ TOT I'll be very happy. Combined with especially 16 games played in the reg season

IMO that is a fair projection. It's all about the OL jelling and Allen developing as a pocket passer with the help a better qb coach in Ken Dorsey than last years QB coach David Culley.

I would rather have Allen rely more on his arm than his legs, and only run if the play completely breaks down or if there are big holes in the defense for him to run for free yards. If Allen develops and plays to his full potential, he is capable of throwing for 4000 yards, with a 60% completion rate, 35 TD and 15 interceptions.

Your projection is more realistic and my projection is if everything goes right for Allen and he maximizes his potential.

Hopefully he figures out how to hit the broad side of a barn.

So are you going to provide stats now?

3700 yards 27 TD 18 INT

500 yards 5 TD

I need to see some signs that he can be more of a pocket passer. Not very hopeful, but you never know.

Lit will never do that because that would mean he would have to commit to a position. It's much easier for a troll-like him to simply say a player sucks, or a coach sucks or a GM sucks and not offer who he would rather have.

Broad sides of barns hit...100%?

My line leans more heavily on passing and less rushing. That would mean the Oline is working and the RB running game is back on.

3700 yards. 30TD. 14int. 300 rushing. 7 rush TD. He’s still a great option on goal line to run in.

What I want to see from Allen...

4,000 passing yards

38 total TD’s

Less than 18 INT’s

59% + completion

What I expect to see...

2,900 passing yards

22 TD’s

22 INT’s

55% completion

And homers will blame our midget subpar wide receivers because they “can’t get open”. The same homers who said we didn’t need to draft a stud WR.

A Bills fan could have gone into a coma in 2000, just woke up, and be shocked that he had not missed a thing!!! HAHAHAHA

I nominate this post of the month, maybe more. Seriously, seriously it encapsulates everything of importance in one sentence. An indie film maker could possibly do well with that concept. -StraightJ 10/7/12

So he's suddenly going to almost double his INT total, with improved receivers and OL, and a defense that will keep games close?

And yes I know he missed games last year....he still only averaged about one INT per game.

When you throw the ball more, INT's tend to happen more.

They gave him a lot of safe passes last year.

When they open the playbook up, watch out...

I think they went out and got guys that fit Today's standard of Wr's. There's very few big bodied guys that are legitimate threats in today's NFL, mainly because guys that are 6'4", 230lbs, running a 4.4 cant stay on the damn field. Outside of Juilo and AJ Green, I guess you can argue Hopkins to an extent, but hes only 6' 1", the big guys are not the stars. If Allen can't hit a guy thats 4 inches shorter, welllll then he doesn't belong. I think he HAS to be able to put up atleast :

3200 yards

30 TDs

16 or less int

57%+ comp

If he can't do that and I mean THIS year, barring some situation where the WR core turns back to 2018 levels again ( literally everyone is hurt at once) then you have to turn your eyes to the draft again. So the homers understand, I expect a QB to AT LEAST average

200 ypg .. thats mediocre

Under 2 TDs per game .. fair

A pick or less a game.. duh

RESPECTABLE completion numbers.. it should be 60%, but i do understand hes going to sling it down field and that's fine, assuming he can actually hit his short passes.

Where I could lay off is TDs, If the Bills are top 10 in redzone offense and he doesn't have all the throwing TDs, ok. Still he better have a handful on the ground and the RBs had better be in the top 5 in TDs as a group. I dont really care how it gets done as long as I'm not watching a shitty Cam Newton.

Beane upgraded the OL, TE, WR and RB through the draft and free agency. Therefor the surrounding cast around Josh Allen is better.

QB's tend to make a big jump in year 2, so Allen should improve this season.

The 2020 draft class is much stronger at the WR position than the 2019 draft class. I would prefer a GM that doesn't force picks and overreach for a WR in a weak draft class. Robert Foster and Zay Jones were starting to show chemistry with Allen at the end of the season, this combined with the additions of John Brown, Cole Beasley and return specialist Andre Roberts(who should also get some reps at WR) puts 5 good WR's that should make the 53 man roster. If you want to trade up to get a #1 WR, the 2020 draft is where you do it.
