I'm not bitching about anybody getting or being rich, I'm pointing out that the system is skewed to where politicians hand out advantages to their rich buddies while the rest of the people get fucked. In this case, the difference between people who can afford to go to college and people who cannot

Okay, we would should agree it’s not just this great experiment that is our country but our failings as human beings

I've given you 2 examples. 3, really. Raise taxes on rich fucks. Cut spending and divert funds from other places where spending is bloated.

You wanna hear my plan to solve the border crisis now?

But all of those options put together only account for less than 45% of the money needed.

We need $50 TRILLION just to make it out of the first 10 years.

If we do EVERYTHING you said, we still have to come up with almost $30 TRILLION more.

So I ask again - what is your plan to pay for it??

Hint - you don’t have to do the work. A non partisan foundation did the math for you.

To do what you want, the average American will have to take a 13% paycut.

So let’s say you make $45k per year - You now just took a $500 per month paycut.

Married couples would be taking a paycut of nearly $1,000 per month.

Can you afford to make $1,000 less per month? Maybe - but most people can’t.

At this point how can the average person in Buffalo, NY afford healthcare in the first place? My family of 3 spends $1355/mo for a $6k deductible HSA. Our total out of pocket with little or no major issues will be around $22k (Co-pays, uncovered visits to Chiro, etc). How is the median household ($32-36k) in Buffalo NY supposed to afford this type of plan (Which is far from Cadillac)? It's over 1/2 of their income? And if they are getting coverage through work, ultimately that's a benefit that is probably keeping them at that job due to the fact that if they leave they'll need to find another job with similar benefits.

The system is broken. Lit's post mentions that a couple making $45k per year would need to take a $500/month paycut to cover a national health plan. Call me crazy, but I'm all in on this one. $5850/person or $12,000 per family is a pretty good deal when you're receiving close to $20k in benefits in return. You're employer also now no longer has to budget for the great unknown of what Health Care will cost in the next 1-5 years and can now consider increasing your pay without the fear of giving a 5% raise only to find out Health Ins is going up by 10%. As it is now, most employers need to find out the cost of health care before they can consider any new raise for employees or capital investments. Maybe your local govt get's a break too. Your taxes that are used for your local school district now aren't going for coverage for their employees - a significant budget line item. They can reallocate those $$ to more teachers, adding back cut programs like Music, Shop, etc.

Health Insurance and Health Care costs in the USA are a major issue that is holding back growth and opportunity.

Estimated median household income in 2016: $32,883 (it was $24,536 in 2000) Buffalo: $32,883 NY: $62,909 Estimated per capita income in 2016: $22,300 (it was $14,991 in 2000)

I understand that you’re trying to get your little fan club on here to think that you know what you’re talking about, but you don’t. Like I said in my first post, if you want to get it done then you find a way to get it done just like everybody dies in their own households. And that’s how you fucking paying for it. Don’t act like you’re some kind of an economist because you’re not and neither am I and neither one of us know all the numbers. But if it’s something they want to get done, they’ll figure it out

You’re right, I’m not an economist. Which is why I trust the economists and PhD’s that say that will take a 13% paycut for nearly all Americans to make it work.

The 13% paycut number was not something I calculated. That was done by economists for a non-partisan foundation.

Your only rebuttal to this is “just make it work”.

You’re like a child at a candy store who just can’t comprehend that mommy and daddy don’t have enough to buy everything.

“But mommmyyyy I wanttttt ittt”

I just want to point something out.

Free college means free community college which is typically a 2 year degree and much more affordable than going to the big schools. You want to go to the big schools they will still be there and they will not be free. I also don't believe in student loan forgiveness... I paid every nickel of my loans back with 0 help.

Medicare for all wouldn't happen overnight it would probably take a decade to roll out so I don't understand why people freak out thinking there will overnight be a month long wait to see a doctor.

Who pays? We all already pay through taxes and insurance premiums not to mention the additional cash just walking through the doors of a doctors office.

The current government is like the average American and makes very poor money decisions. I would start by getting military spending cut down I mean wtf we spend 10x more on military than we do on education.

https://www.thebalance.com/fy-2019-federal-budget-summary-of-revenue-and-spending-4589082

Shit how many millions has Trump himself wasted on his traveling and staying in Mara Lago.

And then yeah there was also the tax cut for the wealthy because they needed it so bad.

There are so many ways to pay it is not even funny.

I do real numbers. Right now I’m paying about 16 1/2% towards health insurance of my income so a 13% pay cut in my case would actually be a 3 1/2% pay raise. No on a serious note, I didn’t realize you were stupid enough to think that free college man like, Harvard for free

They’re talking about 13% less than it is RIGHT NOW.

So you would take your 16.5% and you would add 13%.

Not 13% replacing what you pay now.

Read first. Talk after.

Read this article and follow the link to his proposals for paying for Medicare for all.

Or just Google search "how will Bernie pay for Medicare for all"

Download the pdf. Easy not hard.

He doesn't really want an answer. He just wants to keep saying HJow will they pay for it" over and over until he says it so many times, the other right wingers chime in, like the fucking sheep they are

The bigger question is if nothing is done, how are we going to afford what we have now in 3-5 years? Health care premiums and costs have consistently outpaced wage growth for the past 20 years. It can't continue without substantial economic impacts to the economy, especially when Health Insurance is one of the biggests sucks of people's disposable income. When you're paying more in Health Care premiums as a family, it doesn't leave much left over for the other big ticket items: House, Car, College, etc. And with the volatility of the market, without knowing how much of an increase in premiums you'll be hit with in the future, it's hard to plan for the future, especially if you are in the market for a house, etc.
