Did Aaron Rodgers make a cameo appearance on the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones?

Well he says he did! I included 2 photos fans are guessing was him. It makes me wonder if any more non-plot related surprises are in store next week.

The second-to-last episode of "Game of Thrones" aired Sunday night on HBO and it apparently included a brief cameo by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

 

It was reported last week that Rodgers would be making an appearance, so everyone watching was keeping their eyes open for the two-time NFL MVP.

 

Now, there aren't going to be any spoilers here, as I'm only midway through Season 3 of the show. And yes, I know I'm a little late to the party.

 

On Sunday night, Rodgers posted this message to his Instagram account, confirming his appearance on the show: "It was just for a few seconds, but I’ll always be thankful to have been on the penultimate episode of @gameofthrones"

Yeah it was.... Man, I didnt realize until last night there were only 6 episodes, likely because I dont watch it on conventional TV. I was quite ticked off to find that out. Was this something widely known? I mean I know some fans thought trying to wrap it all up this season was rushing it...but 6 episodes?

 

 

As for the episode itself, there were a number of "nooooo...." moments for me.

Its been known for a good long time now that this last season was gonna be only 6 episodes long. Most of them however have run over an hour and 10 minutes so I guess you could say its more than 6 packed into 6. Does that make sense?

LV and Victor, thanks for answering me. I dont watch TV, or I dont get commercials other than maybe in sporting event streams(I somewhat miss that one stream Bills fans did where they replaced commercials with strange antics, even thogh some of them looked kinda gay), so I had no idea. I looked on IMDB before I watched this episode and was VERY disappointed. The good news for me is, I was considering going on the wagon(laying off the drink) after the end, so that could happen sooner now.

The guy with that interesting hat was quite busy on his book signing tours for such a long while that some say it slowed the progression. Just repeating what I read, I'm not as deep into it as some. You're not the only Ive read who said this. It's kind of the opposite of "jumping the shark", and I'm not really sure why they did it. Could be worse though, I guess.

It looks like Varys turned out to be right, and truly did become the moral compass, at quite a price. Oddly, he was called the ultimate survivor in the fan wiki, but sometimes doing the "right" thing can be what makes you lose your title belt. At least the Greyjoy guy showed them what could be done if necessary to stop stop her and the dragon.

Speaking of title belts, I would pay money to a charity of Josh Allen's choosing if he did Aaron Rodgers' title belt gesture during a game...especially against the Patriots.

 

I suppose this far into the thread it might be safe to post predictions for who gets the Iron Throne, now that a number of chess pieces are off the board and those who may want to watch at a later date have been given opportunity to eject. Lorenzo Alexander's prediction looks like it might be correct, but Im hoping for a surprise.

Part of me agrees with this sentiment. All those seasons building up her character only to blow it all up in one episode.

 

Then again another part of me likes the idea that despite all those good intentions she's after all a Targaryen. Daughter of the mad king. She stayed true to that part.

That's a very good point. But now you bring up a whole nature vs nurture topic when you consider Jon Snow. At least she had good intent originally it seemed, unlike our leaders with their invasions of nations and overthrow of their elected leaders. There are real-life lessons that can be learned from this show.

lol maybe approaches as in me walking me walking east is approaching Europe, but still quite a ways from it. I wrote a lot more but just erased it, because I want to avoid offending too many folks right now for whatever reason. I'm glad at least some others can notice the subversion at work, but I didnt see it as much in GOT as in the Last Jedi or even the average TV bs they push on Americans.

Mad Queen was festering under the surface since the previous season when Dany met with Cersei and realized she didn't really trust anything Lannister. Chopping the head off her most trusted advisor sent her off the deep end and led to the total destruction of King's Landing. She didn't go after the Red Keep first because she wanted Cersei to see what she caused by her refusal to surrender.

True. I mean Walter White was pretty much a good guy at first in breaking bad but over time began to turn. To the point he was straight up a villain. Danny basically turned in a couple of episodes. We’lol see how they’ll stick the landing.

I predicted that you know who would be crowned ruler mostly because it seemed like the lamest possible outcome even though the episode does a good job of selling why that person should be the one. It was a little lacking in the finale but not as bad as the ends of some other TV shows which I won't mention but were featured on HBO many years ago. Of course, we know what happens to the Unsullied but never got an answer for the other armies like the Dothraki.

I think some of those who were bitter are so because they (maybe unconsciously) are aware of the metaphor between that situation and our current own, sadly. "Freeing" the world at the end of a sword/gun(from democratically elected rulers, far worse than what was portrayed in this show, as Dany at least thought she was doing right, while the parasites who control us know better).

 

More than one EPIC monologue delivered by Lord Tyrion, aka The Hand. I am considering changing my screen name to TheHand, because of how insightful he was, and because we have somewhat similar backstories.

 

Not the perfect ending that many may have been rooting for(the music was fittingly in a minor key)...but one that was far more realistic.

 

While there were some gutwrenching moments for people who could relate to various characters(seeing/hearing what was written or not about various characters is a reminder that it is important who is in charge of writing history), there was also some humor.

 

I think the scene with Jon Snow and Dany while they were still talking, can serve as a metaphor for something far larger than 2 individuals, for those who have eyes to see.

 

Make of it what you will(or not), but there as one member who began a thread and/or Shout with "BROKEN"... and in the past week at that(that member was pumping his fist in the air when he heard that word repeated). Call it coincidence if your belief system helps you sleep better at night(or in the day).

 

Not happy to see it over, but that is often the case with the relatively small number of shows that make this much of an impact on our emotions and imagination.

Addendum: I've determined you to be one of the most resourceful SOBs on here, by observing your method....as has Lit, although he voices it in a different manner.
