No comment on Rihanna, but Amy Schumer(cough cough, part of the usual suspects, the tribe who do all they can to stir racial and gender division) thinks you're complicit with police brutality if you don't kneel. Music icon Rihanna will no longer perform at the Super Bowl half-time show in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick, whom she presumably feels has been unfairly blackballed by the NFL for his protest of the national anthem during company time in front of paying customers.

 

According to PEOPLE, a source close to the singer confirmed that she was indeed offered a chance to perform at Super Bowl 2019 alongside Maroon 5 but ultimately declined the offer.

 

"Yes they asked her and yes, she declined," the source said, adding that Colin Kaepernick and the #TakeAKnee movement was "likely" a deciding factor.

 

News of Rihanna's boycott tickled the virtue-signaling nerve of various celebrities, including feminist icon Amy Schumer. "Wouldn’t it be so cool if @adamlevine and @maroon5 stepped down too? What do you guys think?" Schumer wrote on Instagram Thursday.

 

The next day, Schumer announced that she would no longer be performing in Super Bowl commercials and called on Maroon 5 to follow Rihanna in her boycott.

 

"Friday thought. I wonder why more white players aren’t kneeling. Once you witness the truly deep inequality and endless racism people of color face in our country, not to mention the policy brutality and murders. Why not kneel next to your brothers? Otherwise how are you not complicit?" she wrote.

 

"I think it would be cool if @maroon5 backed out of [the] super bowl like @badgalriri Did," she continued, adding that she had already "told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year."

 

Schumer acknowledged that her protest sounds like a "privilege a** sacrifice" but conceded that it is the only way to "hurt" the NFL.

"I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all i got," she wrote. "Hitting the nfl with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them. I know opposing the nfl is like opposing the nra. Very tough, but don’t you want to be proud of how you’re living? Stand up for your brothers and sisters of color."

She continued: "And the hottest thing a guy can do is get down on one knee. Not to propose but to reject the treatment of his teammates by this country,” she continued, before addressing a often misunderstood conception around the movement. “Anyone who says its disrespectful to our military please read up on the fact that a lot of veterans are proud of what @kaepernick7 is doing and fully support him."

 

Comedienne Kathy Griffin of fake-severed-Trump-head fame joined in on the whirlwind of adulation heaped upon Rihanna. "That is feminine power my friends, that is feminine power! Good for her!" Griffin wrote on Twitter.

 

 

Jameela Jamil of "The Good Place" and Anika Noni Rose, who voiced Tiana in 2008’s The Princess and the Frog, both offered Rihanna support on Twitter.

That's not my problem, it's up to the NFL to figure out why people are tuning out. While no public figures have reflected what I feel there are plenty of fans on various message boards I read who feel the same way. I'm sure the NFL will hear about it.
